The Warrington Golf Society is run by its’ members for the pleasure of its’ members. The aims are for all to enjoy the game of golf, whilst participating in a great social event on the day.

The society year starts in March which involves 10 meetings between March and November. Meetings are held every three weeks, at various courses over the North West and North Wales, usually within one hour’s travelling time from Warrington.

Each meeting normally consists of: Coffee and Bacon sandwich on arrival; 18 holes of golf; 2 or 3 course meal followed by prizegiving. Prizes are awarded for competition winner and runner-up, team prize, nearest the pin, nearest the pin in two, longest drive low handicap, and longest drive high handicap. At the last meeting of the season, prizes are awarded for the overall season winners (Order of Merit and Runner-up, Team of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, Lowest Nett Score).

New members who join, will have to play off a handicap of 18 for the first three rounds, (unless a lower handicap is declared) before being allocated a official handicap. Membership subscriptions are £15 for year 2010.

Dress Code:The society asks that all memebers try and maintain a high standard when visiting courses. All memebers will be asked to purchase a society polo shirt and white shirt with blue tie which should be worn at all society events.
